Getting Started
1. On the configuration page of your Sentry-Jira Integration, enter an email address you have access to (it is not necessary for this to match the Sentry account email address). Also enter the Sentry organization slug.
Organization slug can be found in the Sentry Account – Organization settings:
Click on “Update”.
2. Check the inbox of the email address entered in previous step for set-up email. Click the first link in the email. This should reflect the URL of the Jira instance where the app was installed:
2.1. Enter the application UR and click “Create New Link”
2.2. Click “Continue” on the next 2 pop-ups:
2.3. Fill in form with data from email (1-9):
You can copy-paste data and choose any consumer key. Make note of this for later. It should look like this:
Do not check “Create incoming link”. Click “Continue”.
2.4. Click the pencil icon next to the created link.
2.5. Go to “Incoming Authentication” and fill it out according to the email (10-14), then click on Save.
It will look like this:
2.6. In the email, click the link “Finish installation in Sentry”:
3. The link should take you to the Jira Server integration within your Sentry account. Click on “Add Installation”.
3.1. Fill in the form according to the set-up email:
Jira URL is the instance URL where the app was installed. Consumer key is the same as in the previous step. Consumer Private Key can be found in the email. Copy and paste this, including “-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----” and “-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----”.
3.2. Click “Allow” on the next screen.
You are now complete with the set-up of the integration.
4. Linking Sentry issue to Jira issue:
4.1. Go to your Sentry account – Issues, and click on an issue. If you have set it up with sample events, you should have a similar sample issue:
4.2. On the right side, under “Linked Issues” click Link Jira Server issue:
3.3. Go to the “Link” tab and type in the exact key of a Jira issue. Click on “Link Issue”:
Now you can see the link to your Sentry issue inside your Jira issue:
